To brighten holiday deployments, Citi Cards is donating 100,000 AT&T prepaid phone cards to help American troops stationed abroad stay in touch with family and friends. Each phone card will provide military members with 20 minutes of free international talk time to the U.S. from AT&T military calling centers in areas like Iraq and Afghanistan.

"At Citi, we recognize the sacrifices that our troops and their families make when loved ones are stationed abroad," said Jud Linville, CEO of Citi Cards. "Through our long-standing relationship with AT&T and with the help of the USO and our Citi Veterans Employee Network, we're pleased to be able to help our troops stay connected with their families and friends over the holidays."

The United Service Organization (USO) will assist Citi with the distribution of 70,000 prepaid phone cards during their celebrity entertainment tours and special events while Citi's Military Veteran's Employee Network will coordinate the donation of 30,000 cards to military personnel in the 1st Marine Division stationed in Afghanistan.

Citi's work to support the troops extends into many other areas. For example, the Military Veteran's Employee Network is active in helping military veterans transition into civilian jobs, including roles at Citi. In 2009, the company launched Citi's Veterans Initiative, which organizes a broad range of service events across the country to benefit military veterans and their families.
