Citigroup's Institutional Clients Group recently closed a $1.4 billion structured finance deal that will help fund the largest wind farm in the world. As joint lead bookrunner and joint lead arranger, Citi helped finance the Oregon's Shepherds Flat Wind project, which "will produce enough renewable energy to power more than 200,000 average California households and avoid over 1 million tons of carbon dioxide, and will directly and indirectly create hundreds of jobs for the local economy," Reuters reported. The news agency also noted that the deal is the "first broadly distributed offering of its kind supported with a partial U.S. Department of Energy loan guarantee," and that Citi used "clever" structured finance technology to tailor the transaction to a wider pool of investors.

This deal is an example of Citi's commitment to responsible finance, and using the full force of our people, products and services to drive growth, create opportunity and improve the communities we call home.
