The New York Daily News updated readers on its Feed The Hungry holiday food drive with City Harvest, covering a recent food pick-up at a Manhattan Citibank branch. As part of the same drive last year, Citibank was able to send more than 12,000 pounds of donated canned and non-perishable goods to City Harvest, with contributions coming from customers and employees of every Citibank branch in New York City.

The story reported that City Harvest, which feeds 300,000 New Yorkers each week, had collected 840,000 pounds of food through its overall efforts in New York between November and January of this year, aiming for a goal of 1 million pounds before the drive ended. "We experience people going without food every day," said Sandy Martin, a branch manager at a Citibank on New York's Upper West Side, who noted also that the drive "brings Citibank employees and the community together."
