Citi tops list of affordable housing lenders.

Affordable Housing Finance magazine has just released its fourth annual list of America's top affordable housing lenders--and Citi leads the pack. Citi Community Capital, which is the main avenue through which Citi works to finance all types of affordable housing and community investment projects, lent $2.94 billion--the highest in the history of the magazine's rankings and nearly 75% higher than the second place lender.

Citigroup CEO Vikram Pandit weighed in on the news, saying that Citi is "dedicated to supporting affordable housing initiatives that help preserve and revitalize neighborhoods across the nation. This great outcome is the result of our bankers practicing Responsible Finance and I am proud of their efforts."
