Citi Celebrates the U.S. Paralympic Movement

September 07, 2012

Citi is proud to sponsor the 2012 U.S. Olympic and Paralympic teams. Last week, Citi Chairman Michael O'Neill attended the Opening Ceremony to cheer on Team Citi athletes Kari Miller and Amanda McGrory as well as the U.S. Olympic Committee's "Celebrate Heroes" reception in London to celebrate the history and heroes of the Paralympic movement.

At the event, Chairman O'Neill spoke about Citi's sponsorship: "It's hard to think of a worthier endeavor than honoring the men and women who represent their country in the uniform of a Paralympian, particularly those who are veterans of the U.S. and British Armed Forces. Citi is proud to partner with 3 Paralympic athletes -- two of whom, Kari Miller and Carlos Leon, are veterans. Together through the Every Step of the Way program, we are giving back to the organizations that inspired them on their Paralympic journeys so they can help others achieve excellence."

Nearly 500 guests attended the event, including Team Citi athlete Carlos Leon, a veteran. The event raised funds for various Paralympic organizations.

Join us as we cheer on Amanda (Women's Marathon; Women's 1500m) and Kari (sitting volleyball) who are competing this weekend!
