Smart Women, Smart Power Series 2016

January 25, 2016
Candi Wolff, Executive Vice President, Global Government Affairs, Citi

Earlier this month, Citi joined the Center for Strategic and International Studies to launch the first Smart Women, Smart Power (SWSP) event for the new year. SWSP brings together exceptional women leaders from across sectors to share their professional insights and experiences, and Citi is proud to continue its support of the initiative for a second year.

The inaugural 2016 event featured a conversation with Secretary of the Air Force Deborah Lee James, which was moderated by Nina Easton, Senior Editor and columnist at Fortune. Secretary James, who has more than three decades of homeland and national security experience, spoke about her career and development, and how she is now responsible for overseeing more than 640,000 active-duty personnel.

In introductory remarks, I spoke about how proud I am of the support Citi has shown our veterans as they reintegrate into civilian life through our Citi Salutes initiative. Hundreds of our colleagues and volunteers work to provide our veterans with professional development opportunities and help them utilize the skills they learned in uniform in the business world. I also noted that this past November, Veterans on Wall Street hosted its fifth Veteran Employment Symposium and Hiring Fair in New York. Citi helped co-found the coalition, which has now grown to more than 50 member institutions and raised nearly $6 million to assist military members and their families as they transition back into civilian life.

We look forward to having you join us at additional SWSP events in the weeks ahead.
