• Banking Beyond the Bank at Citi

By Gavin Michael, Head of Technology, Citi Global Consumer Bank June 08, 2018 02:30 PM

In our quest to become our customers’ always-on life partner, we are looking to deliver an experience that is simpler, better, faster and consistently excellent across channels. For example, at Citi we launched our first-ever voice capability for iPhone users last month. Customers with Touch or Face ID enabled for Citi Mobile can now “ask Siri” for their bank and credit card balances, which provides them with a new, easy way to check their finances. We’re among the first banks to offer this capability.

We are committed to empowering individuals and families to participate in the opportunities brought by economic growth in their communities, such as saving for college, becoming a homeowner or gaining access to affordable housing, starting a small business, or attaining the financial and social benefits of citizenship. For instance, Citi Community Development and the Citi Foundation support innovative community and municipal partners and programs that focus on youth, entrepreneurship, small business, financial inclusion and resilience, and environmental sustainability.

  • Citi Continues Partnership with Girl Rising, A Global Campaign Using Storytelling to Educate and Empower Girls

By Christina Lowery, CEO, Girl Rising April 06, 2018 11:00 AM

Girl Rising is a non-profit organization dedicated to the empowerment of girls and women around the world. Our movement began in 2013 with the release of the “Girl Rising” film, which tells the stories of nine girls growing up in the developing world, and how they confront barriers to their education. This film, highlighting personal perseverance and potential, remains at the heart of the global campaign to change how girls and girls’ education are valued.

Though much of our work is still conducted overseas, we also saw a unique opportunity in the United States to support and champion girls’ education. Too many young people graduate without an understanding of social justice, global awareness and civic engagement and we found that teachers were desperate to tackle these issues with their students. As a result, we launched the Girl Rising U.S. Educator program on the heels of the film’s release and our partnership with Citi has allowed us to take this program to the next level.

And we need to hold our company, and our leaders, accountable for making measurable progress in all three areas.

  • Announcing Our U.S. Commercial Firearms Policy

By Ed Skyler, Executive Vice President, Global Public Affairs, Citi March 22, 2018 11:30 AM

Today, our CEO announced Citi is instituting a new U.S. Commercial Firearms Policy. It is not centered on an ideological mission to rid the world of firearms. That is not what we seek. There are millions of Americans who use firearms for recreational and other legitimate purposes, and we respect their Constitutional right to do so.

But we want to do our part as a company to prevent firearms from getting into the wrong hands. So our new policy centers around current firearms sales best practices that will guide those we do business with as a firm.
