  • Citi Creates a Global Citi® Music Video to Commemorate the 200th Anniversary

By Art Tildesley, 200 Years Citi, Chair July 17, 2012 09:00 AM

Last fall, Citi employees, individuals and groups of up to 300, came together to leverage the diverse musical talents in celebration of Citi's 200th anniversary. The variety of performances ran the gamut - many put together dance routines with coworkers, others sang at home, and some even showed off their beat-boxing skills. It was amazing to see the performances roll in from across the globe. Each employee brought a new musical style to the table, and we were constantly amazed by their spirit and musical talent. It was a wonderful representation of the great diversity within Citi.

  • The Future of Housing: Economic growth and opportunity for all

By Natalie Abatemarco, Managing Director, Citi Community Development July 11, 2012 12:30 PM

The NCLR Lead the Way conference, which several of my Citi colleagues and I attended this week, is a great opportunity to meet friends and colleagues and discuss issues that are important to our nation's economically vulnerable families and communities. On Monday, I was privileged to participate in "Don't Quit the Dream: A Vision for Homeownership Beyond 2012," a town hall along with leaders from the government and nonprofit sectors. Like Citi, each of them is committed to achieving long-term affordable homeownership, particularly for low- and moderate-income families.

Largely due to the leadership and ingenuity of many of the panelists, conference attendees and other leaders like them, distressed homeowners and communities across the country are benefitting from innovative programs and assistance. These programs directly address the economic realities and hardships facing people today.

By Citi Alumni Network June 26, 2012 02:30 PM

Citi volunteers at an ice cream station at the Global Community Day event in Guam

"There is no better way to celebrate our 200th anniversary than by honoring our history, embracing the future and working together to strengthen the communities where we live and work," noted Vikram Pandit about this year's Global Community Day. And in this year's Global Community Day effort, more than 100,000 volunteers spent 500,000 hours across 92 countries supporting 1,300 projects to help local communities. These volunteers lent their time and skills to local efforts including neighborhood revitalization, housing, disaster relief, environmental protection, donation drives, and financial education and literacy.

Citi alumni also took part in Global Community Day. As part Citi's Alumni Network, an extension of Citi's global employee network, alumni were able to join Citi colleagues on this special day. The Network provides an opportunity for former Citi colleagues to stay connected with Citi and with each other. Many organizations participated in Citi's Global Community Day effort in Guam -- children invited to the events played games, ate sweets, went rock climbing, and participated in other entertaining activities. Citibank country business manager Agustin Davalos described the event as a way of celebrating the future.
