  • Our Commitment to Women’s Economic Empowerment through a Diverse Supplier Network

By Javette Hines, Director, Supply Chain Development, Inclusion and Sustainability, Enterprise Supply Chain, Citi September 29, 2017 04:00 PM

The value of diversity to our business extends throughout our value chain, from our employees to our clients, our customers and our suppliers. Over the past several years, we’ve achieved significant progress in promoting diversity across our supplier base through initiatives led by Citi’s Supply Chain Development, Inclusion and Sustainability Program. However, we are continually looking for ways to increase diversity among our supplier base across the globe, and to help drive economic empowerment for women through our business activities and operations. Fortunately, Citi has a unique model that has kept supplier diversity and sustainability intrinsically linked for almost a decade. This integrated approach has helped to ensure that awareness, education and training in support of inclusion, human rights, and environmental sustainability remain firmly embedded in all of our sourcing efforts.

  • Realizing the power and potential of a fantastic franchise

By Stephen Bird, CEO, Global Consumer Banking, Citi August 01, 2017 03:15 PM

Last week, I experienced one of the proudest moments in my nearly twenty years at Citi as I took the stage at Investor Day, our first in nine years, to share the story of the Global Consumer Bank’s transformation and growth.

After holding a number of roles across the firm and leading our franchise in Asia for many years, I have the privilege today of leading the Global Consumer Bank. It is a fantastic franchise – a globally recognized brand; strong competitive positions in growth markets; best-in-class value propositions; leading digital capabilities; disciplined credit and expense management; and the most focused, talented team on the street. And it is critical to Citi’s future.

  • Building (and Scaling) a Global Partnership

By Brandee McHale, President of the Citi Foundation and Director of Corporate Citizenship at Citi and Asheesh Advani, CEO of JA Worldwide July 19, 2017 01:00 PM

No generation is feeling the impacts of the complex economic and social realities of today more than young people. As the largest youth population in history, one consistent struggle they face is persistent unemployment. Today, about one-third of youth worldwide are either unemployed, not in school, or not enrolled in a training or development program. How will these young people become the next generation of talented leaders without the necessary training and employment opportunities they deserve?

It is now just over a month since our Volunteer Africa program concluded, and our junior bankers from around the world are now safely back in their home countries. It was a truly rewarding experience for all involved, and I am very proud of the enthusiasm and energy of our volunteers, and of the real difference they have made during their five weeks in Uganda.
