As we expand our National LGBT Elder Housing Initiative, Citi Community Development has been a catalytic partner in this effort, which aims to create more LGBT-friendly elder housing options in communities across the country through capacity building, consumer education, advocacy, training and the construction of more LGBT-welcoming housing.

  • Citi Leaders Named to the 2016 OUTstanding/Financial Times Leading LGBT & Ally Executives Lists

    I am delighted to share the news that again this year, two of our senior executives appear in the 2016 OUTstanding/Financial Times Leading LGBT & Ally Executives lists. Citi’s Jim Cowles, CEO of Europe, Middle East and Africa and Bob Annibale, Global Director for Citi Inclusive Finance & Community Development, have been named by OUTstanding/FT for their demonstration of Citi’s commitment to the LGBT community, and for working tirelessly inside and outside the bank to achieve positive change for LGBT people.

    OUTstanding, which was founded in 2013 to demonstrate that “LGBT+ executives could be visible, safe and successful in business”, publishes these lists each year to support the ideal that LGBT+ employees will not be held back or live in fear of discrimination because of who they are.

    Citi's successful track record advocating for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) equal rights in our workplace continues to be recognized! We are proud and honored that the Citi Pride Network, inclusive of all of our Pride Networks globally, has been named the winner of the "LGBT Employee Resource Group of the Year Award" by Out & Equal Workplace Advocates. The award was announced on November 4 at the annual Out & Equal Workplace Summit in San Francisco, CA. Over the past five years, Out & Equal has recognized individuals and organizations as a way to provide business and LGBT communities with examples of innovative approaches and proven successes to help create safe and equitable workplaces.

    Citi employees at the Out on the Street™ LGBT Leadership Conference

    For the second year in a row, Out on the Street™ brought together senior LGBT leaders C-level corporate leaders, senior LGBT staff, PRIDE Network leadership and HR/Diversity personnel - both gay and straight - to talk about issues around LGBT inclusion in the financial services workplace. This year's summit focused on the role that LGBT support plays in the conduct of business and the role Wall Street plays in the larger fight for LGBT equality.
